You will find on this page a small overview of the wealth of our beautiful region. This list is far from being exhaustive but it should be enough to arouse your curiosity if you stay in the region, on the occasion of a French course for instance…


The main sites :


Avignon, medieval city, famous for its bridge, the theatre festival and the famous Palais des Papes among others.

Ventoux also called the Giant of Provence, a mountain culminating at 1912 m, classified in World heritage of UNESCO for its biosphere reserve (diversity of fauna and flora).

The Ochre trail in Roussillon also called The Provencal Colorado, a walk in the heart of an old ocher quarry, to be done absolutely! The village is not left out, it is classified among the most beautiful villages in France.

Le Pont du Gard, a spectacular Roman aqueduct with three levels.










Saint-Rémy de Provence, the little capital of the Alpilles massif

Les Baux de Provence, its cobbled streets and its castle

Sault, a perched village and its lavender fields

Gordes and its « bories » (tiny stone houses)

Châteauneuf-du-Pape and its vineyards

Isle sur la Sorgue, its market and antique shops

Fontaine de Vaucluse, its impressive gulf whose source remains a mystery…








Aix-en-Provence, one of the prettiest cities in the south of France where the famous French painter Paul Cézanne comes from.

Marseille, second city of France well-known for its old port, « Notre Dame de la Garde », The Calanques (a pedestrian path that runs along the coast), the soap and its football team.

Arles, Aigues-Mortes, Les Saintes-Maries de la Mer, unmissable sites to visit in the Camargue, regional natural park on the edge of the Mediterranean.



To do :


Climbing the Ventoux, on foot for hikers, by bike for cyclists fans of the Tour de France, by motorcycle or by car.

Swimming in the Calanques (creeks) or rivers nearby.

Attending a play during the Avignon theatre festival, the most famous in Europe.

Play « Pétanque », a very popular Provencal bowles game that brings together all generations in Provence.

Enjoying a drink and the cicada’s song under a plane tree.





A  colourful and flavorfull cuisine based on vegetables and olive oil: « Ratatouille », « Soupe au pistou », « Caviar d’aubergine », « Daube provencale », « Aioli », « Bouillabaisse » …

The truffle also called « black diamond » : this popular mushroom is one of the greatest specialties of Provence. You can prepare it in different ways : in « brouillade » (omellette), on toast, in a sauce, in pasta or in a salad …

Goats cheese, the best known is The « Banon »

Almonds present in most Provencal pastries: « Nougat », « Macarons », « Croquants », « Olivettes », « Calissons »…

Olives : « Huile d’olive », « Tapenade », « Olivettes » (chocolate!)

Wines, white, red or rosé : Châteauneuf du pape, Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Ventoux, there is one for everyone !

« Muscat de Beaumes de Venise », a natural sweet wine to enjoy as an aperitif or a dessert.

Pastis, the typical alcohol of the region that accompanies all our goods moments.

In brief,


Provence is a little paradise. With its culture and terroir, its sun, its lavender fields, its melodious accent and its cicadas, it is a great place to live and work. Let’s not forget about the « Mistral » (wind from the north) : it can blow at over 110 km / h, which often gives us a moment of fame on the weather forecast.
